Bahya pranayam - External Breath


Bahya pranayam (External Breath) is named from Sanskrit word Baahya mean external and pranayam mean breathing technique.


In this you have to breath in and breath out than kept breath out side during the process.therefore this pranayam called as Bahya pranayam(external breath or external retention).


It should be done after kapalbhati pranayama.


Step by step process of Bahya pranayam (external breath or external retention).


1.Sit on the floor or on mat.take comfortable sitting in padmasan pose (lotus pose) or crossed leg posture.close your eyes keep your spinal cord and head straight.keep hand on knee.

2.Take a deep breath than exhale completely.after exhale hold your breath and try to pull your stomach upward as much as you can touch your chin to the chest.hold this position and breath as long as is comfortable.

3.The process of taking,leaving and holding breath should be in 1:2:3 ratio.if your taking 2 seconds for inhale so 4 second should be breath out and give 6 second for hold breath process.

4.When you feel like breathing in, take the breath throw it out again as before,without holding it up.

5.Same process repeat 5-10 times.


Note :- 


1.All pranayam should start in early morning after wake up on empty stomach.


2.People who have heart disease,blood pressure and cervical colitis should not attempt this practices. 


3.Woman in their period and pregnant or planning to become pregnant woman should  not try this.
